We are a small hobby kennel located in the Ozark Mountain Plateau in some of the most scenic countryside in the state of Missouri. The beautiful Ozark Mountains abound with colourful forests, scenic rivers, and an abundance of wildlife.
At Acorn~oak we are dedicated to breeding quality black and yellow Labrador Retrievers that excel in the show ring, out in the field, or as a family pet. We encourage the use of all validated diagnostic tests for the detection of inherited genetic diseases. All our Labradors are screened for hip and elbow dysplasia. We also utilize the resources available to us through DNA testing to check for inheritable diseases such as PRA ( a degenerative eye disorder ) and Exercise Induced Collapse ( EIC ). We are also aware of each of our Labradors colour genetics. All this genetic knowledge allows us to make better educated decisions on who to breed with whom.
Showing in AKC conformation is our hobby, we only breed a litter to keep something for ourselves.
